WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES

WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES 2022

The 2022
extra mile awards

The on-site fundraising event brought in $245,000 for the beneficiary, The Crisis Center of Comal County. Combine with The Randy Rogers Family Foundation Golf Tournament proceeds, charity concert donation and Cornhole for a Cause funds, this year’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event raised a total of $362,000 for The Crisis Center of Comal County.

On Monday, Dec. 12th, KGNB/KNBT Radio presented Mark Stevenson and The Randy Rogers Family Foundation with Extra Mile Awards for their contributions to the 3rd Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event held in October. Along with other donors, their goal of raising enough funds to purchase a shuttle bus for the local non-profit organization was exceeded.

Nineteen gentlemen stepped up in HIGH HEELS to support The Crisis Center of Comal County. These gracious guys raised funds ahead of the October 18th event with 2 goals in mind: Fund the critical services the CCCC provides and save their own feet! After a quick warm-up lap on the runway, they faced-off in an old-fashioned footrace. The more funds each contestant raised, the better his starting line position, saving his feet and giving him an advantage over the competition. It was a 'shoe stopping' event!

Our highest earner of the evening, Russel Gribble earned high-heel trophy and advanced straight to the championship race for his efforts!

Hank Crippen was our 2022 Walk a Mile footrace champion and Clifton Wilson took home this year’s Ruler of the Runway Award.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, contestants, and – as always – our New Braunfels community, KGNB and KNBT have helped raise almost $400K for the Crisis Center of Comal County in the first three years of this event.

Each year, we are blown away by the generosity of individuals and businesses, alike. It reminds us just how strong we are when we come together for a common goal. Having fun while raising funds is our jam. The CCCC has been an outstanding organization to partner with. Contributing to the funding of their critical programs and growing needs is an honor for our radio stations.

Thanks to our generous event sponsors...
