PET OF THE WEEK 2/18
MEND AND MATCH
The Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area has been awarded a Rachael Ray Save Them All grant from Best Friends Animal Society, a leading
national animal welfare organization working to save cats and dogs in America’s shelters.
This competitive grant of $35,000 supports lifesaving in New Braunfels and Comal County
through the Mend and Match Program, a program designed to help pets receive the medical
care they need to be ready for adoption, and then waive adoption fees for all pets during a
once-per-month adoption event hosted on the third weekend of each month in 2026. Mend and
Match aims to save an additional 292 pets in 2026 by providing adoption support and medical
care.
“This Rachael Ray Save Them All grant means that we can save more dogs’ and cats’ lives,” said Zac Turley, Director of Community Engagement at the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area. “These are pets who truly deserve a second chance, and we are incredibly grateful to Best Friends and the Rachael Ray Foundation for their support. This funding will help us, and our community, reach this lifesaving goal.”
The next meet your match event is this weekend, Friday and Saturday the 20th and 21st, join us at the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area for waived fee adoptions
