Today’s Tell Me Something Good Tuesday is about Maria’s Closet.

NBISD started Maria’s Closet in 2004 as service that provided clothes, backpacks, and toiletries to unhoused students.

​

22 years later, Maria’s Closet operates out of the former Lamar Elementary School campus, and now they offer a mobile closet!

​

The van called “Maria’s Mobile Closet” will begin operating this Fall and can travel to those in need. The van has all the resources of the permanent closet!

 

The van will be traveling to specific locations around New Braunfels, including local food banks, community events and the Crisis Center of Comal County.

​

Maria’s Closet accepts donations, including clothing, hygiene and school supplies.
