TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD TUESDAY
THIS WEEK'S GOOD NEWS
Today’s Tell Me Something Good Tuesday is about a successful weekend at the Humane Society.

One week ago, Sarah Hammond, the Executive Director of the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, posted to Facebook that the shelter was in crisis mode.

The shelter has 83 dogs in their care, and only 58 kennels. In the post, Sarah expressed that they may be forced to consider euthanasia for “less adoptable” dogs.

Every kennel was full and pop-up kennels lined the hallways.

On Thursday, they began one of their most important Meet Your Match adoption events yet. This event waives adoption fees for adoption-ready pets at the Humane Society.

According to Sarah, they needed 20-25 dogs temporarily out of the shelter. On just the first day of the adoption event, 10 dogs found forever homes and 4 left for foster homes.

By the end of the weekend, 66 pets found loving homes, 32 of them dogs. In addition to those adoptions, 23 dogs left the shelter for foster homes.

The HSNBA wants to thank the community for helping give pets at the HSNBA a second chance at a first-class life.
